Nicolas has performed internationally in solo recitals, chamber music ensembles and as orchestra soloist in prestigious concert halls including Salle Pleyel, Cité des Arts, Salle Gaveau and Salle Cortot in Paris, Claude Champagne Hall in Montreal, the Zitadelle Spandau in Berlin, Olympia Hall in Munich, Spivey Hall in Atlanta and Weill Recital Hall in New York.
Duchamp’s active international career takes him regularly throughout Europe, North America and to Japan. He has been featured in numerous international festivals, including the Belle Ile Festival, Radio France Broadcast Festival, Sarlat Festival, Saint-Yriex , Festival in France, Switzerland’s Crans-Montana Festival, the American Music Festival,Corsica` s Festival du Vent and the Montreal Chamber Music Festival. Mr. Duchamp taught with Jean Ferrandis as his assistant at the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris and regularly presents master classes in the US, Canada, Japan, China, Vietnam, France and at the Music Academy International in Italy during the summer. He has conducted master classes in a number American universities, including: Mannes School of Music in New York,, UNC School of the Art, East Carolina University, NC, Governor`s Schools of the Arts, SC, University of North Carolina at Wilmington, University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Wilmington NC, Richmond University VA, Georgia States University at Atlanta GA, Baldwin-Wallace School of music at Cleveland OH, Fine Arts Center at Greenville SC, University of South Carolina at Columbia, and Furman University SC, Queens college NY, Fullerton University, CA, Hanano Masterclass, Tokyo Japan, Montreal Conservatory, Canada.
This personal connection makes Duchamp a unique representative of the French flute school in the flute world. Several international flute magazines favorably reviewed Mr. Duchamp and his performances: Flute Talk (USA), Traversiere Magazine (France), Flute (UK), NY Flute Club Letter, (USA), France- Amerique (USA), The Flute View (USA).
For more than 20 years, Nicolas Duchamp has been Professor of flute in France at the Creteil National School, the Music Center in Neuilly, Gustav Charpentier Music Conservatory, Nanterre Music School and Maison de culture du Vesinet.In 2009, The family of Philippe Gaubert (1874-1941) formally commissioned Mr. Duchamp to celebrate Gaubert’s contribution to the French Art of Flute playing in a worldwide tour. Duchamp created the concert and film homage, GAUBERT VIVANT! which he presented in a US tour including Carnegie Hall in New York, and Spivey Hall in Atlanta where he recorded an historic performance on the famous Gaubert flute Louis Lot N° 1986 for American public Radio's “Performance Today" for over 5 million listeners.
